WEDDING ANNIVERSARY: July 8
Daniel & Amber Olson, together with their children Elizabeth, Sarah and Mark are missionaries in Toronto, Ontario where they are in the early stages of church planting. Their prayer is that the Lord might enable them to reach the people of all nations through their ministry in this multi-cultural city. (Excerpts from their recent Fall 2009 Prayer Letter)
In our last prayer letter we asked you to pray for the mission team coming from Calvary Baptist Church in Derby, KS. This remarkable group of adults and teen arrived the last day of July and definitely proved to be one of our recent blessings. In a variety of ways we found this team encouraging, challenging and fun. We are so grateful for their hard work. They covered a lot of ground with church invitations, really put their hearts into a three day VBS, prayed with us and for us, and did some street-corner witnessing, too. Sadly, the turnout for the VBS was a great disappointment: we had no children visit during the VBS. However . . . we did see five new visitors (3 adults and 2 children) come to another service as a result of the team's efforts, and the individuals have continued to attend on Thursday evenings. In addition to their part in that blessing, we are grateful to the team members for ministering wholeheartedly to our children and our co-workers' different even though we were all hoping for a much different VBS turnout.

Also, in our last prayer letter we mentioned a family who had been attending our Sunday services for several weeks. This family have continued attending in August and September and this has been a big blessing to us. There are still indications that they have not "settled in" with us, but we are grateful for their fellowship and hope to continue ministering to them.
We dare not wrap up our blessings without praising God for the work He continues to do in the lives of a few individuals who have been with us a lot longer. May God be pleased to multiply these blessings!
Outreach in October: Many of you are already aware of our upcoming outreach effort in October, but we wanted to seek continued prayer support and recruit new prayer support, too. We are inviting "seekers, skeptics, and believers to join us after our worship service for 8 Sundays to explore Christianity's unique answer's to life's great questions. We will be making use of Blanchard's booklet, Ultimate Questions, and our prayer is that we will have opportunity to present the Gospel to people who are "unchurched" but curious especially young people. We also hope in the process to help some of our own people learn a little more about sharing the Gospel in our distinct part of the city.
