WEDDING ANNIVERSARY: 8/28
Their recent January 2010 Update:
Dear family and Friends,
Greetings, in the Name of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord he has given us another Year 2010, to serve Him. Same mandate “…Go Ye!”, a New Year full of new opportunities to fulfil this mandate.
South Africa ministry
I cancelled my January planned trip to Congo. The trip was on the calendar, but the Lord did not give me peace that it was the right timing. There was so much happening in the beginning of the New Year here at Community Bible Church in South Africa. I had some new contacts to visit, and counselling, as well as our Annual General Meeting for the church, and all the programs starting up again after the December holidays. I have postponed it, and Lord willing I will make the trip in July of this year.
We look forward to this year, and to the Lord, with anticipation as to what He will do through us. We continue with reaching out to our community and the surrounding areas. Esther and I are involved in running the children’s program on a Friday. This year a number of our young men have shown an interest in preaching, and we have begun meeting on Thursday evenings for teaching and instruction. Others in the church have expressed an interest in going to Bible College, so Lord willing this year we will alter our Sunday evening format, to more of an intense study time, where we will spend more time studying certain books of the New Testament, doctrines.
There is such a need for a vehicle to transport people in from the outlying areas who have to walk to church. Also for someone to drive and would see this as a ministry.
How you can pray:
· For the young men in Bible training
· For a vehicle for transport and ministry persons.
· For our spiritual fortitude as we work into these ministries.
Radio ministry
The radio program is aired daily to Congo; we praise the Lord for providing the finance.
How you can pray:
We are praying about moving the radio program from Short Wave, to FM station. We feel that there are some key cities that are not able to pick up our broadcast, because of interference from bigger international SW stations. One of the major cities we need to reach is Kinshasa.
Family
We are still at awe at how the Lord has blessed us with a used TOYOTA Quantum (ten-seater van) – it only has 32800 KM, as the children say it smells new. We are thankful that along with finally having a car that fits our entire family, we are also able to use it to help the church with transport.
In Christ,
Robert, Esther, Joshua, Cherith, Jeremy, Chelsea, Chayle, Winnie and Wyla (Grandma Grings)
